Ok, I decided to have a little fun today and jump in on Bridget's idea. I have nowhere else I need to be today, so I can play!
I chose a popular theme lately. Pirates, Aaaarg!
My inspiration is from Jupiter on the reality TV show "The Pirate Master" and who can forget our friend Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. Inspiration photos:



Both looks are heavy on eyeliner with dark, mysterious smoky eyes.
From Jupiter's image I got the dot idea spreading out from the eyes.
From Jack Sparrow, very heavy eyeliner and sunburned cheeks.

I chose this look to overcome my fear of bronzer and smokey eyes. My look follows:
Eyes: On lid up to browbone, Umber Matte. Under eyebrow Delicate Gold then blended with Umber at crease. Lined heavily with Drama Queen Copper on top and shadowed in "V". On lower lid I shadowed with Umber and lined with DQ copper. The dots are Umber. Heavy mascara in brown.
Cheeks: Firewoman Rocks! to get that sunburned look followed by bronzing with Medium Bronzer.
Lips: Diva, I swear I applied it heavier this time!

Now you may cut me adrift!

Coloring: 1W Glissade (can get by with N or Y) Hazel eyes, hair back to dark red. Looks best in neutral or slightly cool-toned makeup.
Favorite products: Magnetism gel liner, Rocks! Rouges, Pinafore Color Cream, Adelaide EDT. Have yet to try an eyeshadow I didn't love.

My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

First of all, I love your pirate look, Melissa! You look very good as a pirate.Smile Thank you for choosing such a fun theme!

Ok, so, I couldn't resist playing, myself. I'm a big fan of pirates in general, so, even though I didn't wear any makeup all day(even going to Walmart) I put makeup on for this at 9pm. I know, I'm crazy. But, it was fun.

So, here I'm wearing my usual foundation allover, then I used Sunday Girl Sonic Rouge on my cheeks, then I used Medium bronzer all over.
On my lips I'm wearing Sheen l/s.
On my eyes I lined both top and bottom with the Black pencil(the one that has liquid liner on the other end), then I went over that and built some on it with Drama Red, using some sealant on the brush. Then, I used a ton of Black Angel, building up and out, and some underneath, as well. Then, I used Ophelia to soften some of the upper parts and edges.

It may not scream pirate when you look at it, but it was a lot of fun being inspired by the theme.Smile

Also love: Wine mascara, the Smudge brush, Sassy and Karma Lipsticks, Charm Lipgloss, and the new lipbalms. Am really loving the new elemental lustre eyeshadows, too.

This is soooo cool! Melissa, eliminate the dots and this look could go anywhere. Laura, you look great in that pic! It's more intense than you usually do, but I really like it. I love how the idea of a topic can inspire such different but great interpretations.


54 yrs. old, natural silver highlights. Green eyes, cool skin tone. Level 4 Voile 50/50 C/L is my perfect match foundation. Fave AL product: Nocturne! My YLBB color: Impatiens. Fave eye combos: Blue Coquille with Tide Matte, Pearl with Vintage, Ophelia with Rockbottom, Bouganvillea with anything!

I also loved Johnny Depp. I remember how I had a crush on him back in the 80's when he first came out in "21 Jump Street." I just loved that show. I think he's way cuter now than he was back then.
