I accidentally ordered the Pure Drama Liners instead of the DQ Hot Spars Liners...the Drama Liners are okay but I want the glitter to show up a lot more because it almost looks like plain black liner on me. Is it worth it to get the DQ liners?? Are they that much different?

20 yrs. old, Glissade 1Y, very oily skin with light freckles on nose and cheeks, long purple hair, light brown/hazel-ish eyes.

Currently loving: Rocks! Sonic Collection, all three YAD blushes, Watermelon Pure Hue on cheeks..<3

Oh, and I'm hopelessly addicted to purple and black eyeshadows..!

The DQ liners are more sparkly and more colorful, but do still have some definite black undertones. If you don't want any blackish color in your liners, you'll probably be better off lining with eyeshadows or using some of the Indelible Gel Liners (which, incidentally, are awesome in their own right! Lots of girls love them, myself included Smile)

I do have samples of both the Drama and DQ sets, but haven't tried every color yet. For the colors I have tried, most of the DQ colors are more colorful than their Drama counterparts. My favorite is DQ Teal Love

Somewhere there's a picture where someone swiped all of the Drama and DQ liners on their arm, but I cannot find it and I tried searching for every search term I could think of! Hopefully someone else will be able to find that thread. Another option is to go to the FOTD forum and search for specific color names to see pics of girls wearing those colors. (You might want to search for, say, both "DQ Teal" and "Drama Queen Teal" to find all the pictures since not everyone uses abbreviations!)

Hope that helps!

I would add some rocks glitter or a high sparkle rocks to add more drama to amp up the glam.
I can't see any reason why that wouldn't do it. Experiment on a small amount, and see what you come up with.

Good luck.

On a similiar note...

I was wondering what happened to the gothic pure drama eyeliner. I bought a sample ages ago, and meant to get a a full size. I have so many great liners, I forgot to order it, and now I'm trying to remember what happened. Was that color discontinued? I LOVE it! Anyone have any ideas on what to mix to come up with that, if anyone else has tried to recreate it.
I'm coming up with the closest to a match being pure hue garnet. Anybody else love Gothic pure drama liner, and come up with anything that is closer?
Thank you, ladies.
Kathy

Originally all of the Gothic Lolita / You're A Doll Collection items were going to be limited-edition, including the Gothic liner. Gothic has been discontinued. Some of the YAD items like the blushes (Dolly, Corset) and Color Cremes (Pinafore, Lollypop) have become permanent items in the collection though. I don't know if Miss K has plans for bring Gothic back!

I also love Gothic but was fortunate enough to get a fullsize on clearance Smile I'm not sure what would be a good substitute .... To me, Gothic is reddish/burgundy, with slight black undertones (but not as black as the Drama and DQ liners), and has a purple sparkle when the light hits it in certain ways. (I'm wearing Gothic in my avatar and the camera flash brought out the purple!) I would guess that DQ Red mixed with a red eyeshadow like Garnet might approximate that slightly-blackish red color. Not sure how to get the purple sparkles without turning into a purple liner and losing the red color though -- I guess add a little bit of a sparkly purple color (maybe even a touch of a purpleish Glam Glitter), but make sure you use more red than purple? Confused I am just brainstorming, maybe someone else has some better ideas Smile
