Okay, so I've been buying a lot of Aromaleigh colors lately, and I've noticed a trend in my own makeup case toward blues and grays/silvers. I have fair skin, dark black hair, and blue eyes. Anyone have any suggestions for eye colors that are pretty with this combination? I want something different. Maybe something I never thought of trying before. I really like shimmers, and darker shades. I'd just love some opinions from the Aromaleigh crowd! Thanks!

fair skin, dark black hair, blue eyes
face: 1CL Glissade, Jaune Coquilles, Illuminator or Metamorphasis finishing powder
cheeks: Dolly
eyes: moonagedaydream, morphing moon, white wedding, wonderland
I love blues, silvers, but I'm starting to branch out Wink

Smile I actually put myself on a purple "ban" for awhile because I realized I had more purple than anything, so I know what you're talking about!

Browns are supposed to really bring out blue eyes, so there's that suggestion.

I also like buying a set of colors to create my own dream theme. I take a lot of pictures, and get my inspiration from those. Like today, there were beautiful clouds in my city, and I took a picture that had white, gray, blue, and some hazy pink. I could buy those colors and recreate the look in eyeshadow form!

Something else that has been fun is letting my husband pick. :teeheehee: Sometimes he'll like a color I never would have noticed, and then I save it to wear for a date out.

How about some specific suggestions, too?

Here are some colors that weren't my first choice that I ended up loving:

deathvalley Rocks: looks like a weird mustard color, sort of IS a weird mustard color. But it's so glisteny and unique I think everybody should try it!

personalitycrisis Rocks: bright crazy pink! Really, this is too much fun. I use it to wetline when I want a punch.

Torment: This actually was a first choice of mine, but I thought I'd only be wearing it on days I wanted to look wild. Turns out it's surprisingly versatile and a GREAT liner.

And my current two obsessions are from the Les Papillon. I LOVE Zephyr's Breeze for a great spring green, and Soul Takes Flight looks good no matter what I do with it. Try foiling it for dramatic eyes!

In general, eyeshadows that contrast with (are on the opposite side of the color wheel from) your eye color will make your eyes pop the most. Of course, you can wear any color you like, but contrasting colors are usually safe and easy to pull off Wink

You appear to have cool undertones and a cool hair color, so you may feel more comfortable in cooler contrasting shades -- try taupes, cool browns, purples (especially blue-purples and grey-purples if you want to keep it cool), pinks, reds/burgundies (which could go either cool or warm in my opinion!) PaintedMoogle already mentioned Torment and I love it too -- I wear it with Entangle to tone it down, but you can make this color very bold if you like too (try it with a black shadow!)

If you want to venture into warmer shades, anything with an orange undertone (bronze, copper, peach, etc.) makes blue eyes pop; so do golds, reddish-browns, orange-browns, peachy-pinks, warmer purples (reddish-purples/plums), pretty much any warm shade really....

Also, I encourage everyone who likes to play with color to try a teal Wink Teals can work with both warm and cool skintones, and they can do awesome things with your eye color -- they make my normally blue eyes look aqua or green-blue! Plus teals are just bright and happy colors Smile Endlesssea and Lucky are my favorite green-teals; Ozone and Aqua Nightmare are great blue-teals / turquoises.

Also, with your high-contrast look (dark hair with pale skin), you'd probably look best in darker or brighter versions of these shades to help balance out your dark hair. Or at least a bolder shade in the crease or as a liner, with a light to medium lid shade if you don't want to wear solid bold/bright colors. Check out the Rocks collection for sure Smile

Have fun!

Great suggestions guys! I was thinking about trying some pinks/reds/burgundy and some oranges, so the suggestions are wonderful! I really appreciate it! I look forward to seeing what others have to say as well!

I'm a purple fiend so I'll always suggest purple! I agree w/the pink & red suggestions as well.

Sample sizes are very reasonably priced, so don't hesitate to try colors you've never dreamed of. You could be very pleasantly surprised! And of course, try them on your skin, even if you're not sure of the color in the baggie.

Love the falls!

I'd visit Zhariel's blog if I were you. She has coloring similar to your's. She does prefer bright and/or gothy or punky colors.

I really like GG's suggestions. I'd just add try straight pink and red. As accents if you don't like bold color (as a liner or on the outer 1/3 of your lid). Smile

Great! I will definitely try some pinks/reds. I wore Spread Your Wings today (just got the sample yesterday) and I really like it! Got a lot of compliments on it today!

To cinseven3: Thanks! Got the falls from I Kick Shins! They are so awesome, but really heavy!

I'm a cool toned girl with blue eyes and pale skin as well. A different look for you might be something like a combination of Sonic Rocks! Still in Hollywood, line with Tanzanite or wetline Still in Hollywood, Pure Hue 14K (if it's still in stock) and maybe something like Pure Hue Wizard Gold on the browbone. Even cool-toned girls can wear gold if it's not too yellow or bronzey. Makes my eyes POP every time.

Have fun! That's what I like about AL - I've tried colors here I've never even considered before!

I did not read the other replies because I didn't want my suggestions to be swayed. Here's what I'm picturing would look fabulous with your particular coloring...

Torment, Torrid, Ardent or Flash elemental lustres. Although Flash might seem a bit tame on the swatch, it's a gorgeous color when paired with blue eyes. You could always add a deeper color with it (like Underworld in the crease and outer corner) if you want a little more oomph.

Lychee (lid) opulent lustre would be beautiful paired with Tapestry (crease) opulent lustre. If you reversed the placement of the colors, the combination would be equally beautiful but just a bit more unexpected. I personally would love to see this on you.

Sabine, Viviane, and Solange bete noire. The swatches don't do these colors justice. They are lovely rich colors. At least sample them if you haven't already.

Desire (lid) and Mocha (crease) pure eyes frost would make a great combination as well.

I hope my suggestions helped! I can't wait to see what you end up with.
