In case you haven't heard, our lovely Miss K is taking a small block of time out of her day (Mon-Fri) to chat with us via Skype.

I know it may seem weird at first to chat live with someone you've never met in person, but I'm going to give it a try real soon. I'm sure I'll feel dorky and awkward (cuz that's just me) but I think it could be fun too. Who knows, maybe we'll be able to get the details of my custom e/s (my reward for donating $35+ to DonorsChoose.org) all figured out during our video conversation.

Skype is fantastic. I haven't Skyped Miss K yet (I guess Skype can be used as a noun or verb, huh?) but look forward to it.

I call friends in Spain with it fairly regularly....calls within the US seem to have a much better quality, overseas my connection starts getting icky after about 10 mins. We just hang up and then reconnect, and it always solves the problem. Our kids can see each other and when they come to the US each year for a visit, it's like they all know each other!

I'll be on at 2 EST today for about 30 minutes... I know a lot of you are nervous to call, but seriously- I'm JUST as nervous as you are!

I've dressed up nice the last two days, did my makeup, hoping to chat with some of you... the only call I got was some naked pervert wanting to "cam to cam".

I think this is a fantastic idea- but my head is full of "fantastic ideas' that fail one after another. The important thing is, that despite ideas that fail, at least you tried it and learned from it and took the risk. Most of my ideas are failures in some respect. It's how I grow!

It's really important to stay in touch and personal with customers... and to be totally honest, I hear so much smack spoken about my on other forums- that I'm a psycho, a b*tch, crazy, a lunatic, etc, etc- all things women say based on things they "heard"... that I think if some of you just spoke to me in person, you'd see that I'm nothing at all like whatever image of me has been created in your mind based on reading drivel like that.

One of you here on the forum wrote a review at Epinons that really hurt me- more so than most of the negative things over there. What hurt me most is that it took a quote I made while having a very heartfelt discussion about my father's death-- out of context-- and used it in a negative context against me to exemplify that they believe I have a 'bad attitude' and such. They spoke repeatedly in their review about what a bad attitude I have, and quoted emails from Amy saying that her bad attitude is because my attitude is so bad. (?)

I think that if someone such as this individual spoke to me in person? They'd find it impossible to have that kind of opinion about me. Every day I spread positivism and help other women, businesses and charities. I'm available practically 24/7 for customers, always out front on social networks. I am constantly giving, sharing, having contests and promotions and things that are very generous and caring. I actually listen to my customers and take their opinions into account and make changes whenever I can based on customer feedback. I don't know how any of this could be perceived as me having the all-pervading bad attitude this person described- an attitude SO bad that they feel it has infected my entire company.

I'm a regular person, a mom, a wife, a daughter, and someone who deals with any or all of the same issues that we all do. I keep an extremely positive disposition even despite the blows that life has dealt me this year, and over the past 8 years. Some of the things I've had to deal with- most people could not continue running their business through it. I have. And I've done it well- and no one knows what I've gone through. if they did, they'd be shocked that I am able to be as positive as I AM. Most would have folded a while ago.

So I really want to talk to my customers up close and personal. I want to stop the cycle of nasty, cruel rumors and gossip that are perpetuated on other forums and places like epinions review site.

People who do not know me at all form terrible opinions based on vile garbage they hear, or they create some 'vision' of who they think I am based on their perceptions. This is the price I pay for being up front in my business- and totally up front is what and who I am with all of you.

I'm willing to accept that, it's been like that for years. But if I have a chance to share a part of the 'real me' with all of you via Skype AND help some of you with your questions or just briefly chat- I think that this will go miles towards showing people that I am a real person, not some whacked out version of a woman that has been created in their heads by gossip they've read from people who aren't even within 6 degrees of separation of me.

Anyway, sorry for the rumble... I really hope that you'll all get up the courage to Skype. I'm a very introverted person and believe me, I am a nervous wreck when I change the icon to "online'... so we're both nervous.

But don't be... we're in the same boat. So give me a jingle!!!

This is just another way that I'd like to be here for all of you and I hope that these daily calls become ways that I can interface with all of you.

Plus, I think it will be fun!

I have to get with this program... I don't have a webcam, though. (And that would be way more fun...)

I think this is a great idea, and I would have totally jumped on this... except everyone in the house (except my daughter) has the flu. I just got hit last night. We've been in survival mode all week. :-(

I hope to chat with you soon, Miss K. I am so looking forward to talking with you about the Aromaleigh Angels shadow I am thinking of. And nervous, too. The body may be illin', but the mind is full of ideas!

If you have any plans to be online tomorrow, I plan on being home all day. Heck, you can Skype me without any makeup and in your jammies, that's how I usually do it due to time differences!

The built in camera on the iMac really does rock, btw.

I did hear about Miss K being on Skype, and I'm really sad I've missed her on it! I was actually on my computer the first day, but I was having such an awful day, and looked a mess, so I didn't want my first conversation with her to be like that. Unfortunately, I had a class today during the time she was on, and I have classes all day tomorrow, but hopefully one of these days I'll be able to catch her online.

Kristen, it was so nice to get to talk to you, I really enjoyed it! Hopefully we'll get to do it again!

Ladies, DON'T be afraid, Kristen is super sweet and easy to talk to. We talked a little about makeup, but also about our families and other things. She's a REAL person, so, don't let nerves stop you from taking the opportunity to talk to her. I really enjoyed getting to talk to her after 4 years of all typed/written communication, it's nice to see what she's really like. Now I just need to get a webcam so she(and others) can see what I'm really like.
