Last month, I sent out hundreds of free butterfly hunt prizes... about 300, to be exact! I haven't read anything about anyone receiving their prizes, and what they got, what they liked, etc...

So come on girls, tell us what you got! Did you get a new, daring color? An old favorite? Something you really loved? Something that surprised you?

The Butterfly hunts were rabidly popular, so we'll be having another hunt in the future of some sort...

But first, tell me about your goodies!

xoxo

Of the two I got, Shadow Witch is amazing! I had wanted it when the collection was out but couldn't afford it. So when I saw it as a prize I rushed to find the butterfly.

Thanks for doing the hunts. I missed out on the last several due to our little surprise bundle of joy. She was well worth it though!

I won Coney Island, that gorgeous hot chartreusey green from the Hot In The City collection! I was really surprised that I won, as I usually couldn't even find the butterfly (just not that good at stuff like that - never have been). When it arrived in the mail I squealed! And then I did a pinup style eye with CI on the lid and Latte in the high crease, cocoabean at the outer corner. it was really pretty!

I need to play with my colors more - most days I don't even do eyes, or if I do it's with Dawnbright on lid, Latte in crease, Oyster under brow, tightlined in black. Basic, with my default shadows I have in my cosmetics bag. Need to figure out how to winterize CI.

I was surprised by how different CI is from estranged, googoomuck and such. Totally unique!

Thanks, Miss K!

My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

oooh. I got some goodies!
EL Startle
Rocks! Liptint in Blankgeneration &
GL Shimmer in original Starbright

The first 2 are ones that I had never even sampled before, but I love, love, LOVE them! I wore Startle just the other day with Well Suited EP and Tapestry on the eyes and a soft red lip! Smile Blankgeneration is amazing... and travels well as a creme blush, too!

I had multiple samples of Starbright and knew that I'd need a FS of that eventually. I gave my samples to friends to share the love. Starbright is amazing!

I've worn most of these in FOTDs, too... thanks for having these contests, Miss K... it was so much fun!

-Melissa

I won a 10g jar of Bluebell -- not a color I wear all the time but definitely something fun and different. And since it was such a big jar, I split it in half and gave half to my mom the last time I sent her a bunch of samples Smile

I also got Times Square, which I already have and love, and now I'm happy to have a back-up! I love sparkly neutrals like this!

I also won 24 Hours, which I liked when I sampled it but decided not to get a full-size. But I debated it for a while since I do like it, so now that I have a full-size I can wear it more Smile

- Summer of Love gloss: Meh, I'm not a big fan of gloss, it's very rare I wear any. It is a lovely color (even though it doesn't show on my lips since they're so pigmented). The glitter kind of irritates my lips if I rub them together. But I did love getting fictionromance with it because that's a lip tint I had sampled & was iffy about getting a full size.

- Buttoned Up: I always debated on whether to try to Plush collection & this hunt was a godsend, because now I'm obsessed with the plush line. I want...need every color. It's such an easy line to work with if you don't want to do over done colors.

- Tapestry: Again, I would look at the collection & pass it by because I'm not a big sparkle fan. But I'm very happy to have this color because I often use it as a liner. Very gorgeous color & I keep tiptoeing on the collection, but I'll probably be taking a dive in it.

Again, loved the hunt. It was very exciting & such a rush. You're such a sweetheart. <3

I got greenbriar, tangleroot and trillium-three different greens! I really love all three. I really enjoyed the butterfly hunts and the where in the world is Aromaleigh contest. It certainly got me in the habit of checking your blog once or twice a day!

Oh, I forgot I also got headoverheels lip tint with one of my shadows -- I've been wearing it a lot, it's a great pink for me, and since it's a tint it lets a bit of my natural color show through so it looks much better on me than other cool pinks/fushias Smile

I won the Summer of Love gloss and a full size of Spiked Punch.

I'm not usually a huge fan of glosses, but that one is so pretty I've worn it several times now anyway. And I already have Spiked Punch (I love bright coraly colors for my eyes) so I'm not sure if I want to keep it for a backup or share it with a friend. Smile

The butterfly hunts were a blast! I can't wait to see what you do next. Smile

The hunts were great... although I had issues finding the butterflies and most of the times I did I was too late - except once.

I received either heart and soul or wine and dine. I can't recall which, but I do know I was contemplating buying it during the charity auction run but could only go for one... so I'm happy to have it.

I haven't tried it yet as I'm moving in November and want to take it with me without worrying about it leaking all over the place during the flight - so I'm keeping it sealed. Smile From the jar though, it looks great and I can't wait to try it out.

I won Rocks! Slowburn, Holiday 2008 Spiked Punch, and Valentine's Day 2009 Be Mine.

I adore Slowburn. It's a great color to go with my green eyes as a liner or crease color. I let my husband pick that one out and he did a great job.

Spiked Punch is iffy for me, because I haven't figured out the best way to wear it. I may give it to a friend along with some samples, but I'm still trying.

Be Mine is gorgeous! I didn't start buying AL until June 2009, so being able to get such a great LE color was really nice. I could wear this one everyday as a lid color or highlighter. It matches my skin almost to the point of invisibility, but the sparkles make it stand out. I love it!

I really liked the butterfly hunts. They added a bit of fun to the day, and it was really nice of you to be so generous.

BTW, I told my mom about the hunts, and she lucked out a got Godetia on the second to last day. It was her first LE Aromaleigh shadow, and now she's hooked. She's worn it almost everyday, and it's a great color for her. She asked me to convey her "thank you."
And sorry to ramble - but yay! for more contests!

Thank you Miss K!!

I got Coney Island. This is a beautiful fine sparkly green, but when buffed, and under light it hints a warm gold base with green highlights and green sparkles. It has a multidimensional beauty to it that I could never imagine from the pictures on the website.

I'm not good at finding stuff. I was totally surprised that I won because someone else in the house apparently took the mailer and kept it with their other mail order envelopes and when they finally opened their stuff about a month later, realized that it was not theirs and then I got it (waaaay after the contest was over) so for me it was a huge surprise!

Blue-eyed brunette. Necessities : 2W or 2WL with 1Y, Bella gloss or Belladonna lipstick, venomous or scubadive gel liner

I got astonish, rockbottom, and coney island. I really like all the colors, but coney island was my favorite, and it was the only one I didn't pick out for myself! I was sure I wasn't going to like it. Greens are tricky for me b.c. of my green eyes and warm skin tone. But this color was warmer in person and just so deliciously sparkley. Thanks again for holding the contest! I literally sat there and won all three within 4 days...yeah school hadn't started yet...

Oh, and I know some people, myself included, posted under your blog posts about the hunts...we were all very happy Smile.

Try wearing it with slowburn! I love Spiked Punch on the lid with a reddish brown in the crease (I like Times Square). Sometimes I also add a highlighter on the inner lid. But a brownish crease can help tone it down if you find it to be too bright of a pink for you Smile

Hi ladies!

Thanks so much about posting about the colors and products you won in the hunts- I love reading about your new goodies! I know lots of you got unexpected or colors you normally would not have worn- so hearing your interpretations of your prizes and opening discussion amongst you about favorite colors and how to best wear them is interesting and a great topic.

(And all of the lurkers and guests who visit the forum I'm sure enjoy it too, as well as learning about the Butterfly Hunt, which they may not have known about!)

I ended up sending most of the packages out at the very end of the hunt, since it became more efficient with time and postage to do it that way- so I was just curious about receipt of the prizes and to see what everyone received and if they liked it.

I'm not looking for thank you's- I just really like to read about your excitement when you receive something from a contest, prize hunt or your birthday gift.

It's really rewarding for me to visit the forum and see a post like "I got my birthday pure hue today!!!" and read about how it made someone's day. Those are the best posts and emails to get- the ones where you realize that you made a difference in someone's day...

That's what it's all about- not having someone say thank you. Believe me- it's far more rewarding to read about someone's receiving their prize or gift and how it made them happy and that they love it- than hearing or reading ANY direct thank you to me.

Reading about how you love something or it made you happy, or that sort of thing- is the most rewarding form of "thank you" to me. So just to be clear- I did not post this expecting everyone to come on here and thank me. I'm not like that (I have two children- believe me- you learn quickly to realize that seeing the joy and excitement in their face when they receive a gift or something special is THE most rewarding part of it... not their obligatory "thank you".)

I just like to know that people are happy, that's all...!

xo
Miss K

PS- please keep posting about your prizes if you won any, and no thank you is required! Smile
