Hello everybody,

I am totally new to this forum, to Aromaleigh and to mineral make-up!
I have ordered some samples, which reached me very quickly, even I stay in Finland at the moment (originally I am from Germany).

So yesterday I tried my first sample of Voilé 2 CL, even though my skin is dry. I have "neurodermatitis" and for that, often really dry skin with red parts on it.
Unfortunately I didn't find good light to show you the before and after, but maybe you can have a look at the pics and tell me your opinion about my choice.
I have also ordered a sample of Glissade 2C.

I have ash blond hair, grey-blue (sometimes a little green) eyes and... "medium fair" skin. Not sure about that....

Welcome! You have lovely eyes - they do look much more blue in the first picture and more green in the second! You'll be able to wear loads of colors!

Thank you cinseven.
I am not exactly sure about my eye colour. My ID says grey-blue. I think they change the colour sometimes and of course, it depends on the make-up and light.

What do you say about Voilé 2CL for me? I think you are experienced. Do you think it is the right colour for me?

Any suggestions?

I wish you a good night!

Welcome to Aromaleigh!

It's hard to tell whether foundations are a perfect match in pictures. What's important is how you think you look! Do you see a noticeable line of makeup at your jaw and/or is your face a different color than your neck? Do you feel like your skin looks healthy and glowy, or sickly and pale? Or are there any issues you want to correct (e.g. hide redness, etc.)? Also make sure you check your foundation in both indoor and outdoor light (sunlight) -- there were several foundations that I thought matched in my bathroom mirror but did not look right in sunlight!

There are several of us on the forums with color-changing eyes, so you're not alone Wink I always thought my eyes were just plain blue, maybe a touch of grey, but recently I've discovered that they can look aqua or greenish if I wear certain eyeshadow or clothing colors Smile We were actually discussing it recently in this thread Smile

I fully admit to being terrible at foundation shades!! There are ladies who can give you far better advice than me, so I usually try to let them handle the foundation suggestions. But all that being said, I thought it looked good!

Nice to meet you!
I stink at foundation matching...always working on that. One thing I tried that helped was to squeeze out a bit of creme foundation from an old tube onto a saucer and then sprinkle bits of glissade and voile next to it to find a shade that matched as close as possible.
I support checking in broad daylight, outdoors. Big difference.

Hello and welcome. You are a lovely lady..
My way of checking for a mmu match is to look in daylight (not direct sunlight) say in a car.
I check to see if the mmu blends well into my neck color.. not see a line , light or dark.
I also have to see if the mmu conceals rosacea . But does not look like "makeup" , heavy.. I also prefer light applications, to one heavy application of mmu and then spritz with filtered water lightly after my blush.
Over the years I have changed what blend I have used to.
I started with 2 W.. then changed to 2 Y/L.
that mix is wonderful for lots of us.
However. the cools work for lots of ladies too.
Do you have pink in your skin??? what is your "undertone"? pink, or yellow, or ??
giving that information can help with answers too.
But ultimately seeing the mmu on your skin is how to determine your color match.
I found Neutral to shift on my skin (got orangey) . But others find it a perfect match.

So .. samples really are a wonderful way to go with MMU.. and Al has such a great sample program.
hth.
Jane

62 yr old, light complected, rosacea -sensitive skin, fading auburn hair, hazel eyed, lightly freckled,
MMU= 2 Y/L + a tad of 2 Pink Glissade.
Topped with an Illuminator/juane,verte,blue coquille powders, and Splendor and Allure Perle powders mix for finishing powder.Leaves a soft ,velvety finish, natural look - not a dry skin/ aged looked

Hey Ladies,

thank you for the helpful comments (and compliments)!

Jane, I think I maybe have a kind of "red" undertone? I don't think it is yellow. I had the feeling, that after applicating the make-up, my pores were more visable than before. So that was something negative!
Do you spritz the water to make the make-up last longer?

I try to attach another before-after picture from this morning, where I tried glissade 2C.

Thank you so far!
green

PS: Sorry, but I was REALLY tired, when I took the pictures!

Hello everybody,

I know, the pictures aren't that good but I just wanted to show you, what I've tried first with my eyeshadow samples.

It's blackplanet and psychocandy.

I had the same problem when I first started using mineral powder foundation. I solved it by applying my foundation with a flocked sponge instead of a brush. But if you really like using a brush, just lightly pat all over (paying special attention to those spots with more visible pores) with a clean powder puff or sponge after you've applied your foundation. It keeps the makeup from just sitting on top of your skin. HTH!
