Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to re-affirm what everyone has posted about the importance of getting samples. I discovered the mattes for me, as in other lines I have tried, were not something I like on me too well and many of the samples I didn't think I would like I really did. For example, Torment looks really good on but bright in baggie. Today I lined my eyes with burnt roses, entangle on lids and dune below brow bone. Really made my eyes pop. I thought I would love swampthing and was not impressed but lagoon is nice even though it is matte. It works well as wet liner for me. I also like purple princess wet lined and dry on eyelid. This is a nice color for green eyes. I thought rosewood would be the blush for me but it barely shows on my skin so I used brownsugar on my cheeks and love it. It is a bit sparkly but when I use finish powder it calms it down and blends it well. I love mystery as a soft glint of blue at corners of my eyes and over the drama copper liner. I love Chloe for under brow or I mix it with a clear gloss I have and use on lips. Loveonyourside looks great on lips but scary in the packet. I am very happy with the clear ultra-resolution finishing powder. I have not decided about the nocturne yet. I have been using it prior to putting on my 3w/l and at night. Am also happy with the pure cover formula. It does a really good job at concealing. Since rocks was just on sale I ordered more samples since I now know they are not to be afraid of. I am getting googoomuck, lazysod, ozone, endlesssea, ringofire, whiteriot, newrose, moonagedaydream, shadowoflove and destination unknown. Also got 3 more samples of nocturne on sale. I should be able to decide if I want to stick with it by the end of these. Again, samples are invaluable and allow you to try colors you thought you would never use. You will be surprised at how well these colors work and the samples are very generous.
Sorry for the length of this but I am sooooo happy with this product. The only downside is that I have to get up earlier to decide what colors I want to use that day! And then the free samples they add to the order plus free shipping on samples are just icing on the cake. There really is no reason not to try this line.

If not for the sample option, I would have never tried Aromaleigh. I wanted some crazy colors for set of costumes but I didn't want to spend money on full size products I wouldn't normally wear. But lo and behold! Aromaleigh products were more then I could ever hope for and now I have full sizes of items I would have never thought I was going to wear! Quality, fun times AND great prices. What more could you as for? Plus, Aromaleigh has brought out the artistic side of me that I never thought I had before.

Yes, I completely love the samples, too. They've let me try out so many things, and gotten me over my fear of mattes Smile

Yay, glad you found some samples you like!

I was scared of Torment for the longest time, but now I love it! My favorite way to wear it is to wear Torment in the crease with Entangle on the lid. Depending on how much Torment you use and how well you blend it, this can be a very bold look or a surprisingly neutral look -- and either way it really makes blue and green eyes pop! I also tried mixing Torment with clear nail polish and wearing it on my toes, it was a neat coppery-red color Smile

I have a hard time with mattes but have discovered that warm mattes can look good on me. Mattes that are too cool or too pale can look chalky on me though.

Also, all the Pure Blushes are very light -- they barely show up even on my super pale skin (mix of Alabaster+1W). However, if they don't show up on you, they are great for mixing with a too-bright or too-dark color to tone it down (they can also mattify a sparkly color since they're fairly matte). I love my Peach+Rococo mix -- it's similar to straight Rococo but lighter and less sparkly Smile

If you like peachy-pinks like Rosewood, check out Nectar (might be a bit light for Level 3 skin, but it's definitely darker than Rosewood) and Rococo (darker than Nectar and a bit more sparkly -- probably perfect for Level 3 skin). If you don't like shimmery blushes, dust a little Voile on top the blush, or even just buffing the blush with a clean kabuki after you apply it can help tone down the shimmer. (Same for eyeshadows - the more you blend, the less shimmery they get!)

Anyways, have fun with your samples!

Hi fuzzcat! I couldn't agree more. Trying out samples is the way I got out of my beige/brown rut. After using AL for a year, I've discovered that no color is off limits for me. You never know how it's going to look on you until you try it.

I agree! I used to hate matte eye shadows, that was before I tried ones from AL. I would have never bought a full size of matte color right away, but now I got full size of sand. And I'll purchase many more in the future Big Grin

AL is one of the few companies that seems to do mattes right. They're easy to blend and use, never chalky, and the texture themselves really lends towards an interesting look.
