Hi there! I'm new to Aromaleigh, but have heard raves for the foundation. I'm trying to find a match right now, but am slightly overwhelmed Razz Here is a pretty good pic in natural light of my skintone.
I've never had a perfect MAC or BE match, Everyday Minerals Olive shades were great for me, but I was allergic to Chromium Oxide Greens in them.

thanks for any help! Also, any recs for Creme Concealer shades?

Welcome to Aromaleigh!

If the EDM Olive shades were close, then I'd recommend you try Y and YL. In general, olive is considered a cool yellow skintone, and Y and YL are both surprisingly cool yellows! And even in your pick I can see some strong yellow tones Smile (W and WL are the warmer yellows since they have peachy tones that Y does not.)

I'm not sure what Level you'd be, perhaps 1 or 2? Aromaleigh's Level 1 shades are a bit lighter than most other brands' lightest shades; however, the last time I tried EDM (a few years ago) they had some pretty pale shades so that may not apply for them!

Not sure what Cream Concealor to recommend, perhaps start by sampling anything with "Light" or "Fair" in the name unless someone else can narrow down some choices for you. I use Lite and it's a pale peachy-pink shade. Although, what do you want to use the concealor for? That can affect the shade -- usually concealors with yellow or green tones are best for cancelling out redness; pink, peach, or peachy-pink concealors are good for most dark circles, although yellow may work better for some people.

Thanks for all the help! I was wondering about the Y shades and hoping they're not as yellow as say Winged Butter is for EDM. The concealer will be mainly for undereyes and the occassional blemish. I'm somewhere between Fairly Light and Light with BE (though those a both a bit peachy-orange), and the Light shade range typically did well in EDM (Light Martian for summer, Sweet or Light Almond for winter). do the colors truly run different b/w Glissade and Voile?

I have only tried Voile. Some people say they see no difference between Voile and Glissade but others do, so it may depend on the color or something. I would make sure to sample the exact color and formula you're interested in before buying a full size just in case!

If the Y turns out to be too yellow for you, YL might be a good match since it's 50% Y and 50% L (beige). I know that Y and YL are the most popular foundation shades because they match a lot of skintones!

I definitely prefer and recommend the Glissade formula, but I am not good at recommending shades. I think GG's probably given you some good recommendations.

Hi,Try a sample of Y/L in 1 and 2 levels in Glissade and Voile.. for sure.
And try the Pink creme concealor sample too. many ladies like that one. It blends well, does not glare "pink".... Just use it on the dark part and blend it well.
When I looked at your pic, I immediately thought of the Y/L's ..
Keep us posted please on how you are doing.

Ok gals, I have been wearing samples for a few days - here are some pics I took:

2Y/2L:

These were after wearing it for a full day.

2Y:

Not too sure about my expression there!

So what do you gals think?? I'm not too sure - these are the 2 I keep going back and forth with. Both are Glissade formula. I would very much prefer not to mix.

thanks for any opinions!

If you can get a shot of your face and neck in direct sunlight with both foundations on I can try and help Smile

I really like the Glissade formula. Btw, YL does come mixed on its own, if that helps, so you wouldn't have to mix it.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, we had had some crazy cloudy weather lately, so the sun may or may not appear, but I shall try! Also, I am using the premixed sample of 2Y/2L Smile

First, you're gorgeous! Second, although both colors look great in the photos, I'm going to say that 2y is my favorite.

You look great in both! I like the 2Y one best.
I think Zhariel's idea of looking at them in the sunlight will help you make the final decision. Don't forget that your skin tone can change in winter, summer, and fall. You might keep them both and adjust your mix depending on the season.

Blue-eyed brunette. Necessities : 2W or 2WL with 1Y, Bella gloss or Belladonna lipstick, venomous or scubadive gel liner
