The colors I have tested here are Glissade Level 2's, but I will be sampling and eventually purchasing Voile. Colors L>R: 2L, 2C, 2N, 2W, 2YL (I hope I remembered that correctly) Both pictures were taken outside, one with flash, one without.

To look at my neck, and knowing fall is coming, I think I might need 1's, but looking at the 2L and knowing Voile runs lighter, I don't know. To me, everything I sampled this round has too much color but the Linen, but full face Linen looked ashy, or something. I do have a full size Alabaster so I can lighten, but alone it is too light.

I hope to add some samples to my order tonight, so where should I start?

(Please ignore my having just got out of bed Smile If I get the pictures wrong, I'll try again...)

2L looks closest.

Cool Winter: cool olive skin; dark-grey hazel eyes; dark brown hair.

Have you tried 2C + 2L, or 2CL? It wouldn't be as "ashy" as 2L.

Linen does look the closest, but it hard to tell on computer monitors sometimes! The only way I knew for sure what foundation was my closest match was wearing a full face of the foundation all day, and checking it under various lighting (but especially in sunlight!) These swatch tests can help eliminate obviously wrong colors, but at least for me, I still thought there were several "maybe" swatches that required a test run with a full face Smile

If L looks too ashy but the other colors are too "colorful", have you tried any of the Linen blends? 2CL, 2WL, etc.? If you don't want to order a lot more samples, the Linen blends are just 50/50 mixes with Linen, so 2CL = 50% 2C and 50% 2L. Since you appear to fairly neutral, you might want to try a mix of L and N too. If you add just a bit of color to L, you might find the right balance between too ashy (which usually indicates a lack of color) and too colorful.

I would recommend sampling some Voile colors before you commit to a full size. Even though the description says that Voile runs lighter, some people see no difference between Voile and Glissade (it may just depend on the shade). Also, don't forget you can always mix -- sample some Level 1 and Level 2 colors, and if you're in-between just mix them! Smile

Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions!

EDIT: Actually I changed my mind, you may be more cool than neutral since 2C is probably the second-best match for you. I'd try 2CL and maybe even 2PL before making any final decisions!

I agree with girl_geek - an L blend - 2CL gets my vote, will likely be just right!

My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

Agreed on the 2CL. Or mix your own. I'd lean more towards 2C with a bit of 2L. Like, 2/3 cool with 1/3 linen.

2C looks really good to me, though I think mixing it with 2L would be good.

Thank you everyone!!! I mixed some 2C and 2L this morning to wear to a playdate in the park, and my fellow mommy ended up telling me she was jealous my skin looked so good without makeup...WINNER!! I think I sold her on Aromaleigh Smile I probably WILL get a jar of both to custom mix, a two to one mix might be perfect.

Now I have to find the perfect concealer, and then I will try to post some "faces"!

Thanks again!

Well if that isn't proof that you've got a perfect foundation match, I don't know what is. That's great!

Yay! I got that compliment when I first started wearing AL too, I was thrilled, especially since I do NOT have perfect skin! Smile

Of course, right now I have a couple of gigantic monster zits that no amount of makeup can hide Roll Eyes Apparently my skin hates Tennessee, we went there this weekend to visit hubby's family (and our new baby nephew Big Grin) and I broke out like crazy the day we arrived!

Haha, my skin hates Tennessee too, but for now, I have to live here Smile Coming back from out of town visits always brings me acne and allergies; some of the many perks of this hot and humid weather!!

Aside from all that, I hope you had fun and enjoyed the baby!

It was probably just a coincidence because it's just as hot and humid here as in TN Wink

But yes, the visit was fun -- the baby was super cute and behaved for us, but apparently after we left he kept his parents up all night crying! lol
