Hi everyone!
I am looking for some advice on which shades to try. I have attached some links to pictures. They were taken inside by an open window.

oops - I wrote a reply thinking you wanted eyeshadows. For foundation you appear to be very fair so I would recommend samples of 1N or 1W lightened with Alabaster and tweaked with 1 Linen if needed.

Blue-eyed brunette. Necessities : 2W or 2WL with 1Y, Bella gloss or Belladonna lipstick, venomous or scubadive gel liner

Welcome to Aromaleigh!

It's very hard to guess foundation shades based on pictures, due to differences in cameras, computer monitors, lighting, etc. Smile But here are some guidelines...

Aromaleigh's Level 1 shades are a bit lighter than most brand's lightest shades, so if you often buy the lightest shades in other brands I'd sample Level 1 and maybe Level 2 just in case. If you have a hard time finding anything pale enough for you, then I'd sample Level 1 shades and Alabaster and/or Ghost -- even if you can't wear Alabaster straight, you can mix it with another color to lighten it (which is what I do!)

If you already know what undertones you have, you can narrow down your sample choices. E.g. if you often wear cool / pink foundations in other brands, sample P, PL, C, and CL. Also, Y and YL are surprisingly cool shades are very popular among cool gals. If you often wear warm shades, try W, WL, Y, YL. N and L are neutral shades.

If you have no idea what undertones you are, start by sampling Linen (L) in whatever Level you think is closest. If L looks too pink on you, try the warmer shades (W, WL, Y, YL). If L looks yellow on you, try the cool shades (P, PL, C, CL). If L is close but just looks "off", ashy, or grey, try N and perhaps the Linen blends (CL, WL, etc.)

Also, the Linen blends are just a 50/50 mix so you can make your own to save money -- e.g. 1YL is 50% 1Y, 50% 1L.

Finally, the FAQ page includes an undertone chart, but I think it can be a little confusing. Since beige is in every color you can pretty much ignore that. Also, even though N is supposed to have all colors, most people agree that peach is the predominant undertone in N. So I find it easier to think of the foundations like this:

P = pink
C = pink + peach
N = peach
L = beige
W = yellow + peach
Y = yellow

Also, if you've ever worn Bare Minerals, you can check out the Conversion Chart. Good luck and let us know if you have any more questions!

Welcome Nikkal! I agree, level 1's and Alabaster!

Definitely take advantage of the sample sizes. When they do arrive, most ladies like to put a swipe along their jawline. Check the swipes in a variety of lighting, particularly outdoors in natural light. If you need any help deciding between shades we'll be happy to help!!
