Last week, my skin was a train wreak...I read the other OCM on here. Luckily, I already had some stuff on hand.

The first night I used EVOO and Jojoba Oil with a drop of Rosemary essential oil.

The subsequent nights I used Jojoba and Castor Oil with a drop of Lavender and Rosemary.

This was Thursday night:

To describe the popping on my face while doing this... think of microwave popcorn. I still have a few resistant ones on the sides of my face. Thankfully, the ones on my forehead are nearly gone. Now I have to avoid drying out my face while getting rid of the naughty ones!

Obviously I have on makeup but my forehead is nice and clear.

Go try it ladies!

Ooh, your skin is glowing with health! I'm getting back into OCM, not getting quite so many of the "poppers" but it sure feels like a nice massage. Wink

Cool. Even after reading the previous OCM post; I didn't expect my skin to become jiffy pop! A D-I-Y facial is the best!

I'm still in shock...after only one week 90% of the zits are gone. My skin hasn't looked like this since I was a tween.

That's awesome -- are you using any other skin care or acne treatments besides OCM?

Hi. Sorry to stray slightly OT, but this is the first I've heard of this method. It makes sense to me. Do you think it's worth it to try it out if my skin is relatively clear? I'm acne-prone but right now I just have some clogged pores on my chin, under my lips.

The thought of putting oil on my face is super scary! LOL.

I'd love more info or any advice as well as to hear your updates Ariella - your skin looks great in the pics!

Well, the idea behind it is that oil lifts dirt and other oils. Try it and see how it works for you. I'm dry, but very sensitive, and I was worried that an OCM would break me out (since almost everything does), but it's worked beautifully - my skin is clear and has been problem free.

Here is another recent thread on OCM. And a Google search will yield TONS of info, there's many different oils and formulas you can use!

Like with most skin care, you'll probably need to do some experimentation to see what works best for you. So far, the closest I've come to the OCM is buying a commercial oil cleanser -- but the one I'm using is pretty expensive so I might try to make my own sometime!

I have very oily skin and I find that jojoba oil alone or mixed with a tiny amount of grapeseed oil works best for me. I can only use a little grapeseed oil because it can be really drying, as it has astringent properties. For those who are afraid to put an oil on your face, it's plant oils that are used, and not mineral oils, which are not minerals but petroleum based products. Plant oils were the original facials used by people for thousands of years. Since then, we've all been brainwashed into using products that dry out and irritate our skin, as well as spend our hard earned money! They bombard us with commercials and clever marketing with pretty bottles and buzz words like "Age defying" or "Deep down pore cleansing". Simple, homemade or natural products work best, as long as there is no reaction to it, of course. And they are very inexpensive and last a LONG time! I love using Apple Cider Vinegar as my toner. The bottle from Whole Foods lasts FOREVER & it is truly the best toner I've ever used! It's great for oily skin & I noticed results immediately.

Foundation: 2y voile with a tiny amount of 2yl sometimes. (Can also wear 2W)
Lip Favs: Lollipop, Wallflower, Pinafore, Limbo, Zest
Blush Favs: Rococco, Tawny, Epitome
Eye Favs: Damask, Lola, Fiona, Ariel, Longing, Fairy, Seaglass, Shell, Willow, Marigold, Lisianthus & more to come!

Kittykat - I was actually going to visit Whole Foods up the block tonight for my oils. What is the name of the apple cider vinegar product you are using? Or is it just straight up vinegar thatyou would cook with?

Thanks so much!

I don't remember the brand name, but it's the only one they carry that is raw, organic, acv with "the mother" as they call it. It's tinted brownish. That should enable you to find it. I dilute it in a little water bottle, with 50% water. You may want to have a little more water if it's your first time trying it, to make sure it's not going to irritate your skin. Hope that helps!! I think it's only $4-something also.

I have bought that stuff before, the brand name is Bragg. And it's in the vinegar aisle, not the skin care aisle Smile

I absolutely want to try this, because I'll bet it's a whole lot cheaper than the stuff from Lush that I'm using.

But I'm confused about a couple of things in the blog that was linked in the other thread. It says to do this type of cleansing once in a while. Is that "as needed"? If so, what do you cleanse with during the non-OCM nights?

Also, can you moisturize with just a little of the secondary oil, like the jojoba oil?
