Hi ladies!

I've been invited to a speakeasy club in Brighton, and while "period" dress is not enforced -and I won't, I look possitively DREADFUL in the clothing styles of the time- I want to have some 20s or 30s-inspired makeup, maybe with a bit of a twist. I'm also wondering whether getting those feather-ended falsies would be a good idea for this Smile

Anyway... any ideas would be welcomed!

hi!
I would definitely try using the drama eyeliners as eyeshadows for this (the dark base and color play would be amazing and fun for 20's extreme smoky eyes!)

the feather lashes would be fun as well, remember the 20's eye was pretty heavy so I don't think they'd "clash"

Also, for the perfect vintage glow to your skin I would definitely recommend a dusting of Twilight Lustre.

Hope this helps! Have fun!!

Thanks! great suggestions for the makeup, I was reading up and definitely the Twilight Lustre sounds like a winner for the skin, great excuse to use that jar I've got Smile

Sadly, no Sephora over here, but I've been looking at funky lashes online. I'm thinking of either of these

although I am really not sure of how long they will be. Should get them soon so I can practice

Ok, current tests...

A subtle look: adrenochrome, black angel, elegie. Black eyeliner for extending and emphasising the eyebrow; white eyeliner on waterline; L'oréal Volume Shocking mascara, since I still don't have the falsies. I rather like this, I think it's a bit too subdued for the time but I think it's quite flattering. Btw, I am loving the teensy smudger brush I bought from here a few weeks ago, really useful for this sort of thing.

And a bit more drama: moon all over lid, arch and thick on the bottom lid too. Fume on the lid, black angel 2/3s and crease, blackplanet on V and crease. Black eyeliner for extending and emphasising the eyebrow; white eyeliner on waterline; L'oréal Volume Shocking mascara. I think this is more dramatic, although still not fully "period"; I like the effect of the thick white around the bottom eyelid but I need to find a better way of applying it I think; I used a very fluffy brush, as my point brush was used for the dark powders and of course couldn't be used. The result was that it went all over the place.

So far I've settled for a mix of silk powder, coquille lilas and twilight lustre for the skin, with some twilight sparkle to highlight cheeks.
