I've been contemplating the Elemental Lustres for an ombre manicure. An ombre (a.k.a. gradation or gradated) manicure is where each nail is a subtly different color. In contrast, a gradient or syrup mani is where each nail transitions in color from cuticle (usually lighter) to tip (usually darker), but all nails are painted in the same design.

Rather than mixing together powders, I've decided to use a different eyeshadow for each nail. Thus far, I like Fraud, Mutiny, Ardent, and Crucible (in that order) as a series. I'm still deciding on a fifth color. I plan on using the darkest color for the thumb and lightest color for the pinky.

I chose the Elemental Lustres because I want to see if I can achieve a smooth metallic finish without the noticeable brush streaks that usually result from off-the-shelf metallic polishes. If I can get the Elemental Lustres to work as nail polish, the Bete Noires are next on my list for an ombre manicure. The sparks in Bete Noires would look amazing. I'm currently drawn towards a warm autumnal palette, but soon enough I'll be hot for rich jewel tones. (So suggestions for a series of purples, greens, blues, and reds are also welecome!)

If anybody does ombre (or syrup) nails with Aromaleigh, please post photos! Smile
