So I am going to this party, it's a Black and White affair, so everyone is wearing black and white only. I'm wearing a black knit strapless dress with a black and white striped silk scarf as a belt, and accessories TBD.

But I wanted to have a little bit of fun with my makeup. I was thinking a smokey eye might be nice, but I was also thinking something fun and colorful would maybe be interesting.

I have green eyes and pretty fair skin.

Sorry it's kinda weird pic but the best one I had. You can't really see the color of my eyes, but you can at least tell my skin tone. I'm just wearing a bit of mineral foundation, blush, and some taupe shimmery eyeshadow.

Any suggestions? I don't have any AL stuff yet, but I have been really tempted to get samples, and this is a good excuse! =)

Do a smoky eye with some red to it! That would really set off your eyes and grab attention. Big Grin

Purple is another great color for setting off green eyes. Smile

I like the idea of smoky eyes, maybe with some copper or bronze? Red or purple are good ideas, too. Kristen posted some cool fall looks on her blog, and I would also browse the FOTD section here.

For browsing AL colors, try the "shop by color" on the main site, on the sidebar. It's my favorite way to poke around!

custom mix of: voile/glissade 1YL-2YL plus a bit of Lilas Coquille. Green eyes, Dark purple/brown/black hair, freckles. Current faves: Bella, Sinisterrouge, and Luminary!

Swimkid, welcome!

You could do a smokey eye with ANY color! Purple really makes green eyes pop.

I agree, use any color you want! "Smokey" refers more to the application than the color, you can do smokey eyes in any color that you like Big Grin

For green eyes, any sort of contrasting color like purples, reds/burgundies, pinks/berries, etc. will really make your eyes pop! I personally think the Metallic Berry Eye in Kristen's recent Fall Trends Blog Post would be awesome! (If you don't like navy liner, a rich eggplant purple would also be gorgeous!) Or if you are wearing any sort of colored accessories, you can coordinate your eyes with your accessories Smile

Silver, gold, or other metallics would also be nice if you don't want too go too colorful with your eyeshadow! Metallics are great "neutrals with a kick" sort of colors -- any of the Elemental Lustre colors would be great for this!

Oh my gosh, I got a kick out of your picture! I agree, a smoky eye would look pretty. You could also try the colors offered in the green eye kit as samples, that could work too. (I copied & pasted some details about the kit)

Make your GREEN eyes POP!

Sage (Highlight shade): A delicate, sage-green frost eyeshadow.

Campanula (all-over lid shade): A subtly warm brown with coppery and silvery highlights.

Lilypad (Crease shade) : A frosted version of our "Celadon" green matte eyeshadow, perfect for smudging and lining!

Drama Violet (Eyeliner- apply wet or dry): An amethyst of unparalleled beauty. A hue as deep as arabian nights and regal as a crown.

Cute picture!

Some great netural "reds" that would work nice would be badreputation from the Rocks! line or Lulu from the Lustres line. Also try Tuscany from the Pure Frosts line, Velvet Dream and Burnt Roses from the Gothic Lolita line.

Pair the above with Fox Pure Hue, Damask Pure Eyes Frost, or Sophie Lustre then highlight with something like Fiona Lustre.

Have fun! Let us know how it goes.

Black and white is such a classy, elegant look. I think fairly neutral eyes with great red lips would be perfect!

wow, that wasn't helpful at all! haha... too many great ideas!

Hmm, I didn't really think of doing a smokey eye with a color. I always equated smokey eye=black/gray

I actually have some gray, black, and some greens and purple at home. And some purple eyeliner, and black eyeliner. Maybe I will play with those later and see what happens!

I am also really tempted by the berry/reds idea too. hmm.

ooh those galleries are great! I actually really like this... totally fun, not something you would do everday for sure.

it's like your eyes are on fire!

I'm lookin for something kinda wild, this is a special occasion!

I'm really considering sampling these colors, and then playing around with the other stuff I have. I'll have to play with the different looks, and put up pics for feedback! I better just decide something, cuz if I'm going to order, I need to get it in time!

edit: ok I just ordered a bunch of samples (too bad I wanted like 100 more) yay!
