So I have been a bit stressed out lately and it is showing in my skin tone. It generally looks more greenish/yellow than normal in the sunlight and has this weird brownish tinge in incandescent light. Do you guys have any favorites for livening up a less than perky complexion? (And I think I need to start taking multi vitamins more regularly now that I am in charge of feeding myself!) HAHA.

See, I thought, "sallow" ok, use a purple corrector. But that doesn't work very well for some reason. Blue works wonders if I want to look uber pale and ethereal. But what if I just want a healthy glow to my skin? Hmm. Just interested in your favorites.

Hey you - hope you are well and happy and just good stressed!

Try doing some additional exfoliation, hydration and brightening with Vit C, or add an AHA to your routine. Most otc products will be compatible with what your derm has you doing.

To light the complexion with makeup, try a rosy or peachy type product - Coquilles Rose and Nectarine would be perfect for that, or one of the Starbrights for a bit more dazzle. Basically, you're trying to get the pink back into your skin - lost circulation due to stress.

Give that a go and see how that is. The violet will cancel yellow, but will make you look paler, too.

My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

Like B said rose coquille should help. I have the same problem with my skin. I noticed that when I matched my voile to my skin, the oils in my skin would darken it over the day and bring out the yellow tones in the powder more, so within a couple of hours I had that sallow, brownish tinge.I made my foundation a little lighter/pinker than it should be and when it mixed with my skin it looked perfect. I also re- touch with rose coquille. I hope this helps you!

Thanks so much both of you! I exfoliated, then dusted my face with foundation, and then any pinks/peaches that I had. In my case that was starbright and femmefatale. I look much better now Smile And it is good and bad stress...starting graduate school. I just did a FOTD and I don't think my skin looks too shabby with those corrections.
