I used it accidentally. Didn't notice a difference from shadows... was a great shadow.... teal.

I've used both Drama Purple and Drama Queen Purple as shadow - just applied it with a regular brush like any other shadow and it worked fine. I do put a dusting of foundation on my lids first, but don't use any lid base.

I have used them just the same as a regular eyeshadow. They are wonderfully versatile. If you use a sealant and/or base, it helps the color be more intense and the sparkles stay in place.

Coloring: 1.5 level skin with yellow undertones, hazel eyes, medium golden/reddish brown hair color. Surprisingly, I look best in neutral and cool-toned makeup. Love greys and pinks. I love these liners! I have become an Aromaleigh freak - these are the BEST eye colors from the shadows to the liners I have ever used and I've bought the most expensive to the least expensive and nothing tops them. I hope you have success with them also!

I sometimes use Drama Queen Copper or DQ Teal as the shade for the outer edges and along the crease. They really have a wonderful complexity to them. And then I wetline for contrast.

Love them!!!

I used Drama Queen Silver as a crease color the other day and it worked just like a shadow, no problem.

i use several of the drama and drama queen liners as shadow... mostly the red, purple and silver. i use the eyeshadow base just like i do with all my shadows. it's really a matter of personal preference. for me it really helps the shimmer stay put and the colors stay true. and foiling really makes the liners POP!

I got a sample too, and tried that as eyeshadow. It looked awful. It was messy and hard to blend.

I find if my lid is AT ALL oily or moist the dark shadows don't spread well - for a light application it HAS to glide and not be attracted to any one area, so powdering allover first or applying a highlight color over the whole lid. But even over a cream eye shadow I'd have trouble trying to apply a light wash of such a dark color.

the al eyeshadow base can make it difficult to blend as well. i found that patting it on in very light layers works extremely well. even better if you apply a good layer of foundation or a paler eyeshadow first. just blend every single layer so you don't get any harsh lines. i use a fluffy crease brush, the ultra-cute fiber optic pointed brush, or the ultra-posh fiber optic oval brush. fo brushes make it super easy to apply light layers of dark shadows.

I have 1 of those slanted eyeliner brushes I bought from MAC a few months back, and I use that Urban Decay primer potion on my lids. I tried brushing along my lashline and it looked splotchy and dirty. I had to use alot of shimmery/white shadows just to clean it up a bit, because it wouldn't come-off without starting all over again (and in the morning before work, I don't have alot of time to diddledick around, its gotta look good immediately... there's just no time to experiment).

understandable. it is hard to experiment when in a rush. every now and then i'll get carried away and end up with a giant mess that i have to wash off cuz there's no saving it. this is never good when you are strapped for time. perhaps you could try it again when you have some free time. the primer potion works pretty good. i used that before i switched to al's eyeshadow base. perhaps you could try using it wet when lining?. that should keep it from getting splotchy.

I haven't tried to wet-line any of the Aromaleigh stuff yet... I'm just using my existing black liquid liner until that runs out. I do have to say that by looking at the photo galleries, some of the wet-lined results look fabulous, but I have to wonder how much time was put into that kind of perfection. When I have no time whatsover, I seem to do really well with the Pigment Hue "Zinfadel" no matter what. The color is great and is blends perfectly. Even if it flecks off onto my cheeks, I just blend it into the blush. I tend to do well with reddish shadows without having to hours on it.

Is that AL eye sealant stuff what is used to wet-line the AL powders?

You can use the eye sealant to wet line AL powders, but what i find works better and gives a better finished texture is the gel type eye drops. Gives a glossy smooth finish, whereas water, regular eye drops or the sealant give kind of a "dry" sometimes flakey look.

Trial and error to find what's best for you!
