Since there's now a coupon code for Glam Glitters, I anticipate that a lot more people will be trying them (myself included)! Now I am looking for ideas on how to use the glitters!

I've seen a lot of lovely FOTD pics where the glitters were used as eyeliners. But I am curious if anyone has pictures or ideas for looks that use the glitters in other ways! There are so many pretty colors of glitters that I know there must be tons of other ways to use them Smile A description of how you apply the glitters in the looks would also be helpful (e.g. sealant, primer, etc.) You can even give ideas on how to use them in places other than your face .... hothothot is screaming nail polish to me Big Grin

I'm so excited about this offer! I kept meaning to ask if I could substitue a glitter instead of a Rocks, but Miss K is so generous and SOOOO overworked, I didn't want to pester her!

Although my favorite use for them is a liner, I love using the lighter colors just under the browbone for an extra bit of shimmer. Or in a lippy for some added sparkle. Or a dab on my cheekbones for some zing. Or in my hair for some extra color. Just about anywhere, really!

Welp I don't like to put things in my hair other than shampoo, and I haven't tried it as nail polish, but as a lippy, you will probably need to mix it with clear gloss and not just dab it on over gloss or lipstick - I have had bad luck with this. As for using as a shadow and not just a liner, be sure to PAT on, not drag the brush as it will cause the glitter to distribute unevenly. Also, I use both primer and sealant with the glitters.

Smile

I have found that the new gelee eyeliner sealant is perfect for using the glitter as an eyeliner. Love I get a thick perfect line when I use it, and it stays put all day. Using the other sealant with the glitters, they tend to wear off and clump, I have a hard time getting an evan line.

The only problem I've had with the new gelee is if I put it to far in the corner of my eye and dries, it glues my top and bottom lashes together Big Grin

Ah, the new gel stuff.... I've been using the regular sealant with mixed results....

I also only use the glitters for liner. On my face.

These are the best glitters I've found for body art. They're so finely milled that I get excellent coverage over my adhesive and the color stays dense and true for the full time the glitter is on (about 3 days). I'm so pleased with these and the elemental lustres that I gave samples to everyone at our latest henna/body art conference (OK.Only 6 people)....they were all wowed.

i only use these as liners on occasion. i'm just not a huge fan of glitter on my eyes/face. i do however use them all the time for nailpolish. usually i'll put on a base coat first. if i use black polish as a base i'll use hothothot, redshadows, phantom, evilwoman, & prettyplease on top mixed with clear polish. if i wear a brown polish i like using rebelrebel, nowherefast, etc. when i only wear clear polish i'll mix in icingsugar, zero, masshysteria, & shakitup. i always apply one or two coats of clear polish on top so you get a smooth finish.

i rarely wear gel or hairspray but if i'm going out and want some sparkle in my hair i'll mix a little phantom or evilwoman with some hair gel in the palm of my hands & then smoothly apply from the crown of my head to the tips of my hair. then i lightly spritz some hairspray to make sure the glitter sticks well. since my hair is black it doesn't stand out much but is really pretty. i use regular minerals too for a more natural look.

Hey, hennagirl, have you tried the glitters with temporary tattoo liquid? I've had mixed results with it adhering to the base, but I'm still working on finding a way to make it stick. I'm thinking of trying a base of silk powder instead of talc. Hmmmm...

Maybe if you spritzed with a sealant. I;ve played around a bit with Temptu...but wasn't too happy with the consistency. If I could get it to work, it would definitely be a great addition to the palette.

I have a friend in Phoenix who makes outlines in body art liquid, then fills in the design with medical adhesive and glitter. The glitter really needs something to grab onto.

Ooooo...medical adhesive instead of waterproof hair gel. ::makes a note::

I like the idea of the fill in. I've been playing with the temptu with mixed results.

::goes off to make a wish-list of glitters::

I used Aromaleigh base and sealant. I put about four drops of sealant in the sealant cap, and dipped my brush in that before I dipped it into the glitter. I put nowherefast over my entire lid. It was gorgeous and it stayed on until I took it off fifteen hours later. I am giddy over these glitters. They make me happy when I look in the mirror.
