Due to the sultry Southern heat, I pare down my summer makeup to neutral eyes with vibrant lips and cheeks. While searching for some bright blushes (rather HTF), I finally ordered some samples of "Rocks! Sonic Rouge." I'm sure this comes as no surprise to anyone here but...OMG!!! "Sundaygirl" is the bright shade I've been searching for forever! It looks AMAZING on my skin - I ADORE IT!!! I've got some peach/coral/apricot mineral blushes that will become GIFTS as soon as my full size of "Sundaygirl" arrives! I don't even use my fiber optic brush; just a tiny bit of product and my regular blush brush and instantly I'm ten years younger! (please forgive my OTT enthusiasm; I just can't help myself) "Cherrybomb" is my perfect red blush! I don't care for cool red lips on me; I opt for more neutral, somewhat warm red lip shades and this blush shade is perfection! I can see both of these shades working beautifully in the fall and winter with deeper, richer lip shades as well.

Next I need a very cool pink/purple shade (mineral blushes tend to go a bit warm on my skin so I must find an almost purple shade to achieve a bright cool pink cheek) so I'm guessing "Wildflower"? I've searched the photos and posts on it and I feel fairly sure this is the shade I'm looking for. Any thoughts and suggestions will be greatly appreciated, but hurry please? I want to place my order!!!

Kristen, thank you for these spectacular and unique blush shades!!! *Sighs* I'm so excited over this summer romance! Love

I think you will love Wildflower. It doesn't really show up as purple on the cheeks. I think it will become the bright cool pink you're looking for. Rocks! blushes are my favorite too. Nothing else makes me look so fresh and glowing and lasts as long.

***********************
Coloring: 1.5 level skin with yellow undertones, hazel eyes, medium golden/reddish brown hair color. Surprisingly, I look best in neutral and cool-toned makeup. Love greys and pinks. Current Favorites: Magnetism gel liner, Rocks! Rouge in Breathless, Pinafore Color Cream, Adelaide EDT, Delicate Vanilla Bean Lipbalm, Ondberry and Maylily Spring Solstice!

Wildflower is a gorgeous color, definitely get a sample. Actually, you might want to just go ahead and sample ALL the Rocks Rouges, they're all fantastic colors!!

I think lots of ladies pass over the Rocks Rouges based on the color of the swatch on their monitor. And even once they get the sample baggie, they think, oh my, that's bright. But as we all know, you can't judge it til you've tried in on your skin......and everyone seems to fall in love with these fantastic rouges!!

I use Romance Pure Hue as a blush.
Don't limit yourself to just rouge shades. That's what is so great about minerals!

Yes .. Romance is great .Several of the PH's under my mmu are good as blushes. Even e/s works in some shades like Terra cotta.
Fun with AL is sooo relaxing.. mix a few shades together . mix a divine powder with say Hibiscus.

62 yr old, light complected, rosacea -sensitive skin, fading auburn hair, hazel eyed, lightly freckled,
MMU= 2 Y/L + a tad of 2 Pink Glissade.
Topped with an Illuminator/juane,verte,blue coquille powders, and Splendor and Allure Perle powders mix for finishing powder.Leaves a soft ,velvety finish, natural look - not a dry skin/ aged looked

If you love the Rocks! Sonic Rouges, I second what Cinseven said, get samples of all of them. These rouges are so pigmented that one of those little baggies last a long long time, and what fun to use a differnt Rocks! Rouge everyday! Smile Also consider getting the Fiber Optic Blush Brush to apply these colors. It picks up just enough pigment and distributes it just right. Another good tip is to apply these under your foundation for "a glow that comes from within".

My personal favorites: Femme Fatale and Firewoman.

Newrose Rocks! Eyeshadow is also makes great blush color!

Ooooh, you've reminded me: I have a sample of "Hibiscus" that I used once as a blush and LOVED it! Hmmm....off to my Aromaleigh sample box!

Sadly my makeup budget is small, but I think I'll order "Wildflower" and "Sundaygirl" and get a couple more Rocks Rouge samples. I definitely want "Cherrybomb" come the fall. Looking at the "Touch Up Compact" too; I've wanted that for a while....hmmmm.....!

The blush samples will last forever. I wear sinister rouge nearly every day. I'm pretty sure I got it last fall. I finally put it in a jar, it looks like the sample could probably last til next year.
Wildflower is great. It could be just what you want. Candy-o is also a possibility. I wear it when I have self tanner color, so I'm much warmer. It's a nice color for me.
You can't go wrong with these.

Wildflower should be perfect for a cool, bright blush and I agree - I've used my sample blushes for over a month without even DENTING the supply in the baggie. they're so intense it doesn't take a lot to get a perfect, clear flush.

I would love to try Wildflower - but don't have any of those wonderful fiber optic brushes to ensure a sheer application. Would the FO brush (all over face) that is currently on sale be overkill to apply this blush?

As I said in my original post, I'm not using my fiber optic brush to apply these and the color is not at all over the top. I'm light/medium olive (and I do mean light! no sunning for many years) and just use the smallest amount with my regular blush brush, adding more and building the color as desired. I've been using samples of "Cherrybomb", "Femmefatale", and "Sundaygirl" by placing a teeny amount of pigment into a large empty generic jar lid (I actually use a mini spatula from a facial & body hair bleaching kit to transfer pigment to jar - it's perfect for samples!) then swirl my flat-top blush brush to pick up color and apply. GORGEOUSNESS, omgoodness!!! Get the samples, you will love them!

By the way, I remember a while ago there was talk of Aromaleigh finding and selling something attractive for use as a mixing bowl. I, for one, am still interested! Something pink, red, and/or gold to match my room and vanity? Love

BarbItalia - good to know! I have a cheapie walgreens blush brush I use for URFP - I probably could adapt it to these blushes. I am still sorry I missed the FO blush brush on sale - silly me. I will definitely order up a Wildflower sample.
I like to use my Creme Brule bowls for foundation, blushes and all over face powders - but another cute idea may be those colorful prep bowls they sell in most kitchen stores:

barmitalia ~ i rarely use a fo brush for the rocks rouges either. i usually use my angled blush brush to apply them and i'm able to achieve a very natural flush of color. tapping just a tiny amount in a large lid or flat surface and swirling the brush around to evenly distribute it works great. i don't even need to apply foundation on top.

do let us know how you like wildflower (or any other rocks! rouges that you try).

Although I also own the FO blush brush, honestly I don't use it. I have better control of coverage with my regular blush brush (it's a Sonia Kashuk blush brush from Target - I also use her larger Powder Brush for finishing powders). I just put a few grains of rouge in a little bowl and then lighty pounce-pounce-pounce the brush in the bowl until the rouge is evenly distributed over the head of the brush. I do a slight twirling back and forth motion with the handle as I'm pouncing so the color doesn't cling to one particular part of the brush. It works better for me than the FO although I know many women here swear by the FO.

FYI for anyone who's interested .... the Flawless Face Brush is a similar shape to this SK brush and could also be used for blush. I also have the SK brush, but I use the Flawless Face when my SK brush is drying after a wash since they are pretty similar Smile

I like using the SK or Flawless Face for lighter blushes since they give a heavier coverage than the FO brushes. But for darker/brighter blushes I like the discontinued style of FO blush brush (I still don't have the new FO blush brush) -- it's perfect for applying blush right on the apples of your cheeks! Smile And since most blushes are too bright or dark on my pale skin, I use the FO brush a lot Wink (I use the FO brush for all Rocks and GL blushes, and some darker PR's like Myrtle and Verve. I use a regular blush brush for PB's and lighter PR's like Nectar and Cashmere.)

I don't have the new FO blush brush but might pick it up one of these days. It looks fairly versatile -- turn it sideways to apply thin stripes of blush, turn it the other way to apply wider stripes or do the apples of your cheeks. At least that's how I'm guessing you'd use it ....

i've been wanting the new fo brush too. i gave my al fo blush brush (the old one) to jen and i have one with the same bristles but with a long black handle. i use it quite a bit for applying shimmery blushes and sculpting. it does apply darker shades beautifully, esp if you are super pale or have a heavy hand.
